Chiara joined our law firm on January 2008 and she is a qualified lawyer admitted to Italian Bar in 2013.
Since 1st June 2016 she has been admitted to the List IV of the Luxembourg Bar.
Principal areas of practice:
Practice includes: civil and commercial law, general shipping, insurance, international transport, road carriage matters.
- Hull & Machinery Insurance matters, also related to yacht recovery claims;
- Investigations of wet shipping cases, collision at sea and dealings with Maritime Authority;
- Issues related with Time and Voyage charterparties;
- Issues related with ISM Code, ISPS Code, Security of ships, maritime accidents;
- Insurance brokers matters.
After an humanistic education, she attended the course of law studies at the University of Genoa, ending the first part of it with a degree thesis concerning transport of hydrocarbons and damages arising from marine pollution.
Degree evaluation 110/110. She graduated in Maritime Law in December 2007 with a final dissertation on owner’s civil liability in European maritime law. Degree 110/110 cum laude.
Her university experience also includes six month of Socrates-Erasmus program in 2006 at the University Pantheon II of Paris (France). She attended, in November 2007 and March 2008, several seminars dedicated to marine safety and investigation on accidents. She developed her knowledge in road carriage at Second National Forum on road carriage legislation held in Genoa in June 2010. In March 2011 she increased her knowledge in some of the most recent issues related to marine carriage, including piracy issue, attending the annual session of Shipping and Trade Conference and Exposition, organized by the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) in Stamford, Connecticut (USA), a widely appreciated international event.
In April and May 2013 she had the opportunity to experience the London shipping market with a secondment at the shipping department of Reed Smith, a top level international law office based in London, and at Charles Taylor Consulting, a leading P&I Club. She had also a training internship at RSA UK, one of the world’s leading multinational insurance groups, and at the London offices of Lockton Companies, a primary insurance broker providing services for risk management, insurance and employee benefits.
